National governments are considering cannabis policy and industry regulatory modernization proposals at an increasing rate all over the world, and in some cases, have already adopted reform measures. Currently, Uruguay, Canada, Malta, Luxembourg, Germany, South Africa, and Czechia have adopted national adult-use legalization measures, and dozens of countries have adopted national medical cannabis legalization measures.
New markets are emerging in regions such as Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America, while existing markets are expanding. At the recent International Cannabis Business Conference in Berlin, a panel of experts examined opportunities in newer markets.
