Efforts to reduce cannabis stigma and educate society about the benefits of medical cannabis come in many forms. One area that has always been near and dear to my heart is efforts involving sports and cannabis.

For several years, I helped former NBA All-Star Clifford ‘Uncle Cliffy’ Robinson with his sports cannabis advocacy pursuits, and I witnessed firsthand how powerful and impactful those efforts were. Sports cannabis efforts reach sectors of society that other forms of cannabis advocacy may not reach.

Sports play a big role in society, with people from all backgrounds and walks of life participating in various sports and passionately following their favorite athletes and teams, including ice hockey. That is why it was such a significant thing when Four 20 Pharma GmbH recently conducted a medical cannabis awareness campaign during a Cologne Sharks home game against ERC Ingolstadt.

Diversity matchday in Cologne – and we are right in the middle of it with hashtag#CannabisImAlter.

At the Kölner Haie ‘s home game against ERC Ingolstadt, the focus was not only on ice hockey at the highest level – but also on a topic that is particularly close to our hearts: education for cannabis therapy as a therapy option.

With our own booth on site, information material, our new spot on the screens and many intensive discussions, we were able to bring education to where people come together.

A special highlight:
Dr. Daniel Huse was officially allowed to throw in the puck for the game – a strong sign of dialogue, openness and modern health education in the sports environment.

Great atmosphere, exciting game, many good conversations – an all-round successful evening for us.

We are looking forward to continuing our cooperation and to continuing to bring this partnership with the Cologne Sharks to life.
