The emerging legal cannabis industry continues to serve as the most exciting and interesting market for investors. However, identifying meaningful investment opportunities can be a difficult task due to a seemingly ever-growing list of factors.

Multiple legal cannabis and hemp markets underwent significant regulatory changes in 2025, particularly in Europe and North America. The effects and impacts of the policy changes are sure to continue throughout this year and beyond. Rescheduling in the United States, explosive growth in key markets in the Eastern Hemisphere, and important M&A/investment transactions have fueled increased investor interest in global cannabis.

As investors enter/re-enter the space and markets continue to mature, investing strategies must be more sophisticated, with competition for capital being more intense than ever. At the recent International Cannabis Business Conference in Berlin, an expert panel examined how to develop effective investment strategies as the international industry evolves.
