As far as the emerging legal cannabis industry has come in recent decades, the industry’s growth continues to be hindered by inconsistent rules and regulations from country to country. With the industry continuing to expand globally, regulatory discrepancies and the issues they create must be properly addressed.

At the International Cannabis Business Conference in Berlin, Germany, public policy and regulatory experts examined what it will take to harmonize standards to help boost market access, reduce legal risks, and create economies of scale. The panel discussion highlighted success stories and lessons that can be learned from them to further the global cannabis industry.

The panel was moderated by Daniel Haymann, Attorney at Law at MME Legal. Mr. Haymann was joined on the panel by:

  • Patricia Heer – Partner, Hodgson Russ LLP
  • Nikos Koukovinos – Quality Assurance Lead, IA Agro SMPC
  • Atiyyah Ferouz – Founder & CEO, AgCann Consultancy Ltd.; Founder & CEO, Nexora Health; Executive Director, International Cannabis Quality Standards Association
  • Rob Perry – Vice President Sales, GrowerIQ
